Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group:The intervention group will participate in 9 closed group cognitive behavioral therapy sessions. The sessions will be held weekly (one session per week) for 90 minut
ice-breaking activities
establishing rules and regulations
and assigning tasks. Session 2: Enhancing self-disclosure among members
sharing opinions, experiences, and concerns related to aging
discussing the needs and wants of the elderly
fostering empathy among members
and identifying negative thoughts and misconceptions related to age, followed by a discussion and task assignments.Session 3: Identifying automatic negative thoughts associated with aging
engaging in discussions
working on cognitive restructuring
and assigning tasks. Session 4: Identifying and discussing common cognitive errors, including all-or-nothing thinking (extreme black-and-white thinking) and labeling (a severe form of all-or-nothing t
followed by task assignments. Session 5: Discovering pleasant and achievable life events and exploring ways to increase them
followed by task assignments. Session 6: Introducing problem-solving techniques and skills for managing worries

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Must be 65 years old or older. Must have at least a middle school education. Must score between 22 and 30 on the Mini-Mental State Examination. Must not have physical disabilities. Must not have participated in similar psychotherapy sessions in the past 6 months. Must not have a diagnosis of psychiatric disorders according to their medical records. Must not have a history of using psychiatric medications.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals who miss more than one psychotherapy session will be excluded from the study.
