Interventions

Intervention 1: Control group: Routine care. Intervention 2: Intervention group: Fluconazole, IV, 3 mg/kg, twice a week until the first 6 weeks of life.

Inclusion criteria: Neonates with birth weight under 1200 grams Admitted to neonatal intensive care unite

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Major congenital anomalies

MeasureTime frame
Sepsis. Timepoint: 6 weeks after intervention. Method of measurement: Clinical symptoms and blood culture.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Pneumothorax. Timepoint: 6 weeks after intervention. Method of measurement: Chest X-ray.
