Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for children:3-6 years old,having healthy dentition with the except of only one asymptomatic carious primary mandibular posterior tooth requiring pulpotomy under inferior alveolar nerve block anesthesia, no siblings, Inclusion criteria for mothers: being of Persian speakers, 20-50 years oldand willing to participate in the study, The exclusion criteria: mothers being illiterate, children with history of previous dental attendance or dental pain, children diagnosed with physical, behavioral, emotional or communicative disorders, needed multiple dental appointments, with confounding medical experience and children who presented uncooperative behavior during clinical examination.

| Overall child behavior throughout the operation after intervention 1 and 2. Timepoint: At three different time (during local anesthesia injection, in the middle of dental operation and near the completion of treatment). Method of measurement: By direct observation of child behavior at three different time by two blind instructed and calibrated observers based on Franckle behavior scoring scale ranging from 1 (Definitely negative) to 4 (Definitely positive), dichotomizing child behavior at each individual time, into either “uncooperative” (scores of 1 and 2) or “cooperative” (scores of 3 and 4). Considering the most prevalent observed behavior as the overall child behavior throughout the full appointment. | — |
