Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: Sambucus gel will applied topically in the pain area, three times a day, for one month, in the amount of two index finger joints and gently massaged for 30 seconds.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of mild to moderate osteoarthritis (grade 1 to 3) by a specialist doctor by X-Ray or, if needed, MRI Age range: 35-75 years old

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnancy or breastfeeding Having acute diseases (infectious or non-infectious) Suffering from incurable chronic diseases such as: cancer, types of epilepsy, MS, widespread skin diseases Having other types of joint or bone diseases

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The amount of pain in the knees based on scoring from zero to ten based on Visual Analogue Scale). Timepoint: At the beginning of the study (before the start of the intervention), every two weeks for three months after consuming the gel. Method of measurement: Visual Analogue Scale.
