Type 2 diabetic. Non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus

Interventions

Intervention 1: One capsule coenzyme Q10 (100 mg) per day for 12 weeks. Intervention 2: One capsule placebo cellulose acetate (100 mg) per day for 12 weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Type 2 diabetic patients for more than 2 years and not consumption of vitamin and mineral supplements during the last three months. Exclusion criteria: changing in dosage of glucose lowering medications; physical activity and diet during the intervention; any chronic renal; hepatic; thyroid; haematic and gastrointestinal disorders; using anticoagulants; diuretics and ß blockers; hormone therapy; insulin therapy; alcoholism; smoking; pregnancy and lactation.
