Inclusion criteria: Not receiving metformin over the past 6 months HbA1C less than 8/5 ?Preserved EFor normal EF

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Intolerance to metformin DKA GFR less than 30 systolic heart failure

MeasureTime frame
Determine the degree of diastolic failure. Timepoint: Initially and 4 months after starting treatment. Method of measurement: Ecocardiography.
