Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Hypertrophic burn scars on the trunk or abdomen

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Primary burn injury <1 year History of chemical or electrical burn Genetic or acquired conditions that severely affect systemic wound healing or collagen formation (vasculitis, diabetes, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, radiation therapy to the scar site or use of immunosuppressive drugs in the past year, active cancer)

MeasureTime frame
The Vancouver Scar Score is a checklist of three criteria: vascularity, height, flexibility, and pigmentation. Each characteristic is given a score that is added together to give an overall score between 0 and 13. Timepoint: 0 months, 1 month, 4 months, and 6 months. Method of measurement: Based on the checklist.
