The intervention group received 50 mg of intravenous magnesium sulfate 10% per kg as infusion during 15 minutes after anesthesia under medical supervision and patients were lying Prone.
the control group was given 50 mg of intravenous placebo 10% as infusion over 15 minutes per kg after anesthesia and patients were lying Prone.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: patients who had lumbar disc surgery at two levels; Iranian samples, aged 20 to 65 years, grades 1 and 2. Exclusion criteria: contraindications of magnesium sulfate, the possibility of pregnancy, patients dissatisfaction, chronic diseases, drugs and psychotropic drug consumption.
