Intervention 1: Intervention group: Patients will learn how to recite Islamic Zikr in which the word “Allah” is repeated 100 times (Hazrate Zahra’s praises) 10 minutes before burn dressing change. The

Control group: Patients will not recite any especial word and will receive routine cares only.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient should be Iranian and Muslim (Shiite). Patient believes in islamic zikr. Having written consent to participate in the study. Patient should be between 75-40 years old. Patient will be alert. Having a minimum level of reading and writing literacy. Being able to speak and communicate. Patient will be in the acute phase of burn injury. Patients with a second and (or) third grade burns. Patients with burns of 20–50 percent TBSA. Patients with fresh wounds. Patient should need to beta-dine acid dressing.

Pain intensity. Timepoint: Just before reciting Zikr, 15 minutes before burn dressing, 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes after burn dressing. Method of measurement: Visual Analog Scale.;Pain quality. Timepoint: Before reciting Zikr and 15 minutes after doing dressing. Method of measurement: The Short Form-McGill Pain Questionnaire.;Pain anxiety. Timepoint: Just before reciting Zikr, 15 minutes before burn dressing, 0 and 15 minutes after burn dressing. Method of measurement: Burn Specific Pain Anxiety Scale.
