Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Nurses who employees in Intensive Care Units of 5Azar Medical and Educational Center; interested in participating in the research project; having a bachelor degree or higher degree in nursing; who take care of adult patients with a tracheal tube or tracheostomy with consciousness levels from 5 to 10 at the time of study.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Nurse’s performance (assessment, relief and reassessment of pain and recording them). Timepoint: Before intervention and a month after intervention. Method of measurement: Data extracted from patients’ records.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Pain management consequences including amount and frequency of administration of analgesic. Timepoint: Before intervention and a month after intervention. Method of measurement: Data extracted from patients’ records.;Clinical outcomes including duration of intubation, duration of ventilation and duration of hospitalization in the Intensive Care Unit. Timepoint: Before intervention and a month after intervention. Method of measurement: Data extracted from patients’ records.;Physiological parameters including systolic and diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and arterial oxygen saturation. Timepoint: Before intervention and a month after intervention. Method of measurement: Data extracted from patients’ records.
