Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: age between 20 and 50 years; no allergy to clove scent; receiving 6 sessions of electroconvulsive therapy. Exclusion criteria: no consent of patient to continue the study; any change in the patient situation that affects the process of treatment

MeasureTime frame
Memory status. Timepoint: Before the first and after the third and sixth sessions of electrocovulsive therapy. Method of measurement: Wechsler Memory Scale.

MeasureTime frame
Level of total antioxidant capacity (FRAP). Timepoint: Before starting ECT and after the last session. Method of measurement: Ferric reducing antioxidant power(FARP.;Level of malondialdehyde (MDA). Timepoint: Before starting ECT and after the last session. Method of measurement: Thiobarbituric acid (TBA).;Level of cortisol. Timepoint: Before starting ECT and after the last session. Method of measurement: ELISA.
