Diabetes Mellitus. Non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus

Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group was given 0.5 U/kg insulin which half of this dose given as NPH and other half given as regular insulin in three divided dose( basal/bolus Insulin). Intervention 2
Treatment - Drugs
Intervention group was given 0.5 U/kg insulin which half of this dose given as NPH and other half given as regular insulin in three divided dose( basal/bolus Insulin)
Control group was given Slidng Scale Insulin 4 time a day when their glucose be more than 140 mg/dl.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Patients who admitted with cardiovascular Diseases; with history of diabetes more than 3 months; blood glucose of 140-400 mg/dl; Hgb A1C more than 6.5%; Age 18-80; who can eat; Patients Giving oral antiglycemic agent; patients who give insulin with doses of 0.4 IU/kg/day or lower. Exclusion Criteria: Hyperglycemia without the known Diabetes; CABG; severe Liver Diseases; Renal dysfunction (creatinine above 3 mg/dl); History of diabetic ketoacidosis; Pregnancy; inability in filling and understanding the consent form; unconsented patients; patients who want to discontinue the study at any time.
