Interventions

Intervention 1: Without intervention. Intervention 2: Intervention group: injection of 3 ml of normal saline before and 3 ml after intravenous drug injection and if intravenous drug was not received
Prevention
Intervention group: injection of 3 ml of normal saline before and 3 ml after intravenous drug injection and if intravenous drug was not received, injection of 3 ml of normal saline every 12 hours

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: hospitalization for minimum 3 days, peripheral catheter on upper limb. Exclusion criteria: discharge or death during the study, continuous infusion, catheter change for any reason unless phlebitis, Immunosuppressive therapy during study, consumption serum with of 800 to 900 osmolarity, emergency situation for example need to cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

MeasureTime frame
Grade of phlebitis. Timepoint: 72 hours after intervention. Method of measurement: Using Visual Infusion Phlebitis scale questionnaire.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Grade of phlebitis. Timepoint: After 72 hours. Method of measurement: Using Visual Infusion Phlebitis scale questionnaire.
