Intervention 1: Nifedipine is initiated with a 30-mg ( 10 mg/20 min capsule) and then nifedipine maintenance dose is 10 mg every six hours. Intervention 2: Group with magnesium sulfate are initiated
Treatment - Drugs
Nifedipine is initiated with a 30-mg ( 10 mg/20 min capsule) and then nifedipine maintenance dose is 10 mg every six hours.
Group with magnesium sulfate are initiated with 10 g (I.V) and then 5 g (I.M) every 4 hours.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: gestations 24-37 week ; presence of 4 uterine contractions or more over 30 minutes; cervical changes 0-4 cm; effacement of at least 50%. Exclusions criteria: cervical dilatation >5 cm; medical complications with tocolysis like severe preeclampsia; maternal cardiac or liver diseases.
