Placebo tablets look exactly like the vitamin C tablets and are made of cellulose microcrystalline by a pharmacologist in the faculty of pharmacy, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran.
vitamin C 1000 mg should be used in 4 divided doses (250 mg in each dose) every day for 6 months. Vitamin C tablets are chewable and are made by Daroupakhsh Company.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: willingness to participate in the study, being menopausal, not having received hormone therapy in the past month, not taking medications which have negative effects on bone metabolism, having osteoporosis or decreased bone density confirmed by a radiologist, having the history of childbirth, being at least able to perform one's daily tasks, and not suffering from liver, kidney, thyroid, parathyroid, intestine, or bone disorders. Exclusion criteria: taking medications with negative effects on bone metabolism, unwillingness to participate in the study, or migration.
