Conditions

Polycystic kidney disease. Polycystic Kidney, autosomal dominant

Interventions

Patients will take 1 tablet of metformin 500 mg (Rogin Daroo Company) daily for the first week, two tablets daily for the second week and three tablets daily thereafter up to six months..
Treatment - Drugs
Patients will take 1 tablet of metformin 500 mg (Rogin Daroo Company) daily for the first week, two tablets daily for the second week and three tablets daily thereafter up to six months.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: Serum creatinine less than 1.4mg/dL at the beginning of the study; signing the informed consent form Exclusion criteria: previous history of metformin use; allergy to metformin; any side effect during the intervention which prevents the patient from continuing the study
