Interventions

Intervention group: Phase 1 periodontal treatment including scaling and root leveling plus chlorhexidine mouthwash twice a day for a week.

Inclusion criteria: Age of 18 to 65 years, Chronic moderate to severe periodontitis, Moderate to severe gingivitis, CAL equal to or greater than 3 ml,

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Systemic or metabolic diseases, Indication of surgery, Pregnancy or breastfeeding
