| Restlessness score in Richmond scale. Timepoint: 6 hours after surgery, patient restlessness in two test groups (under normal care and Benson sedation) and control (only normal care), every 15 minutes to 45 minutes (3 times) in the first 15 minutes of entering the ward and the second 15 minutes (minute 30) and the third 15 minutes (45 minutes) will be examined. Method of measurement: The Richmond scale has ten criteria, including four criteria for restlessness (+1 to +4), one criterion for relaxation or alertness (0), and five criteria for the level of sleepiness (-1 to -5). How to score this The criterion is three steps: A- Observation: the patient is only observed. If the patient is conscious, consider the appropriate score (0 to 4+). If he is not mindful, do step two. B- Verbal stimulation: call the patient's name out loud and ask him to look at you. You can repeat this if needed. Consider the appropriate score (-1 to -3) if he reacts to you. If he doesn't react, go to the next step. C- Physical stimulation: shake the patient's shoulder; press his sternum firmly if he doesn't respond. And consider the appropriate score (+4 to -5). The Richmond scale (RASS) can be used in all hospitalized patients to describe their level of alertness or restlessness. | — |
