Major Depressive Disorder. Major depressive disorder, single episode, moderate

Interventions

Intervention 1: Intervention group: vortioxetine 15 mg per day as intervention group for 6 weeks. Intervention 2: Control group: tablet sertralin 75 mg/day as control group for 6 weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Presence of Major Depressive Disorder based on DSM-5 criteria Baseline Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D) (17-item) score of at least 19 Age at least 60 years old

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of psychosis Any other mental disorder Receiving psychotropic medications Receiving any antidepressants during past one month or ECT during past two months Hypothyroidism Cardiovascular disease
