Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: patients with a pathology report of esophageal cancer who could tolerate surgery and would not have medical contraindications for surgery. Exclusion criteria: 1) patients with a non-malignant cause (motility disorder) who will be candidates for gastric pull-up; 2) candidates for colon interposition; 3) patients who would not undergo surgery due to any cause; 4) patients who will not be discharged from hospital.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Occurrence of structural anastomotic stricture. Timepoint: 6 months. Method of measurement: rigid esophagoscopy and/or by barium swallow.;Adverse events. Timepoint: 6 months. Method of measurement: Evaluation by surgeon.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Dysphagia. Timepoint: 6 months. Method of measurement: rigid esophagoscopy or barium swallow.
