Inclusion criteria: Normotensive patients (SBP=65 years) yes F.1.3.1 Number of subjects for this age range

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Suffers from gout Already on allopurinol treatment Previous adverse reaction to allopurinol Patient currently on azathioprine Renal dysfunction (eGFR < 60ml/min) Heart failure or LVEF <45% Contraindications to MRI such as metal implants in body and claustraphobia Cancer or lifethreatening illness Pregnancy or breastfeeding Unable to give informed consent
