Inclusion criteria: Sex: male Married Peripheral arterial disease not eligible for revascularization Are the trial subjects under 18? no Number of subjects for this age range: F.1.2 Adults (18-64 years) yes F.1.2.1 Number of subjects for this age range F.1.3 Elderly (>=65 years) yes F.1.3.1 Number of subjects for this age range

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Eligibility for revascularization Inflammatory diseases Cancer Obesity Intolerance to the drug (iloprost) Haemorrhagic risk: peptic ulcer, trauma, cerebral haemorrhage Acute or chronic cardiac failure (NYHA II-IV) Severe coronary artery disease or unstable angina Myocardial infarction in the previous six months Severe arrhythmias Suspicion of pulmonary congestion Current use of antioxidant drugs Smoking Current use of beta-blockers, clonidine, alphamethyldopa and major analgesic drugs
