Inclusion criteria: Children aged 7-12 years with: A physician diagnosis of asthma No deterioration of self-reported asthma symptoms in the previous month Use of at least one dose of inhaled corticosteroid per day Are the trial subjects under 18? yes Number of subjects for this age range: F.1.2 Adults (18-64 years) no F.1.2.1 Number of subjects for this age range F.1.3 Elderly (>=65 years) no F.1.3.1 Number of subjects for this age range

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children who smoke cigarettes Children with other serious illness Children who have taken dietary supplements containing selenium in the previous 3 months

Main Objective: What is the compliance with Forceval Junior Capsules when prescribed as part of a clinical trial in children with asthma?; Secondary Objective: Are there any changes in lung function (FEV1 and exhaled nitric oxide) or symptom scores over a four-week supplementation period? ; Primary end point(s): Compliance will be determined by pill counting and by changes in urinary selenium:creatinine ratio in urine samples obtained at the start of the study and after 4 weeks of taking Forceval Junior Capsules. Changes in asthma control will be determined by changes in symptom scores, ventilatory function and exhaled nitric oxide.	—
