Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: age <18yrs, previous renal replacement therapy, cardiac pacemakers, diabetes, inability to provide informed consent, current breastfeeding or pregnancy

MeasureTime frame
Main Objective: To test the hypothesis that when estimating kidney function in patients with chronic renal failure, using more precise measures of muscle mass, instead of traditional indirect determinants such as sex, age, height, weight and ethnicity, will improve the accuracy of the estimation.;Secondary Objective: To determine the effects (if any) of age, gender, height and weight on renal function, which are independent of their effects on muscle mass. ;Primary end point(s): Glomerular filtration rate, serum creatinine, appendicular muscle mass, intra cellular water, demographic data (gender, age, height, weight)
