Inclusion criteria: - CI candidate - Native language: German - experienced CI-user

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - neurological disorders - cognitive impairments

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The aim of the study is to use the Oldenburg Sentence test and the Oldenburg phrase test during the initial phase after cochlea implant surgery and to compare the results with those obtained using the standard procedure (Freiburg monosyllabic speech test).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
In addition, cognitive load is measured based on the participants' verbal response times, pupil dilation recorded via a video-based eye-tracking system, and subjective questionnaires.
