Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for the treatment of a malignant or non-malignant disease Independent ambulation without the use of assistive devices at hospital admission Karnofsky Performance Status =70% at the time of study enrollment Written informed consent from the participant and, where applicable, the participant's legal guardian

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Congenital malformation syndromes (e.g., trisomy 21) Fractures or an increased risk of fractures Severe neurological or cognitive impairment preventing participation in the exercise program or study assessments Severe coagulation disorders or other medical contraindications to physical exercise

MeasureTime frame
Change in physical performance and mobility from baseline to follow-up assessments up to day +200 after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, assessed using standardized functional performance tests (6-minute walk test, Timed Up and Go test) and muscle circumference measurements (quadriceps femoris and triceps surae muscles).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Change in health-related quality of life, psychosocial distress, motivation, and affective state from baseline to follow-up assessments up to day +200 after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, assessed using the KINDL®, PO-BaDo, FAM, and Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM). Changes in serum cortisol concentrations are additionally evaluated.
