Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who undergo surgery or a medical procedure during the observation year and receive anaesthetic care in the process. Annual analysis commencing in the calendar year 2024.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Perioperative mortality within the first 24 hours following surgery or a medical procedure, or during hospitalisation, recorded by cross-referencing Section 21 of the Hospital Remuneration Act (KhEntgG) and anaesthesia records

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Perioperative mortality is categorised according to, amongst other factors, age, gender, type of admission, need for ventilation and specialist department, as well as the hospital’s case-mix index
