Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eligible participants must be physically active and have engaged in resistance training at least twice per week for a minimum of six months prior to study enrollment. Participants will be excluded if they have any musculoskeletal injury or any diagnosed cardiovascular or renal disease that could interfere with participation in the study or the safety of creatine supplementation. Furthermore, women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant during the study period, or breastfeeding will be excluded from participation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants will be excluded if they present with orthopedic abnormalities or injuries affecting the spine, pelvis, shoulder complex, or lower extremities that may interfere with resistance training participation or performance testing. Furthermore, individuals with a current or previous diagnosis of an eating disorder will not be eligible for inclusion. Additional exclusion criteria include the presence of metabolic, cardiovascular, or renal diseases, as well as the regular use of prescription medication that may influence physical performance, body composition, cognitive function, or the physiological response to creatine supplementation.

MeasureTime frame
At baseline (T0), after 5 weeks (T1), and after 10 weeks (T2), maximal strength in the back squat and bench press was assessed using a 10-repetition maximum (10RM) test. In addition, body composition was evaluated using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), including measurements of body mass, fat-free mass, fat mass, and skeletal muscle mass.

MeasureTime frame
Cognitive performance was assessed using the Eriksen Flanker Test and the Stroop Test. Assessments were conducted at baseline (T0), after 5 weeks of training (T1), and following completion of the 10-week intervention (T2).
