Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Member of the Lotto-Intermarché cycling team participating in the 2026 Tour de France or the 2026 Tour de France Femmes • No knee injuries in the past 3 months • No major knee surgeries (ligament reconstructions, meniscus repairs) • Written consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • No team members of the Lotto-Intermarché cycling team participating in the 2026 Tour de France or the 2026 Tour de France Femmes • No written consent • Relevant previous knee surgery • Relevant knee injuries occurring = 3 months before the start of the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Medial meniscus extrusion over time, measured at baseline, before and after each stage as well as at the 2-week follow-up after the end of the race, determined by ultrasound as the difference in millimeters between the supine and standing positions.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Change in knee pain scores, measured at baseline, before and after each stage, and at follow-up 2 weeks after the race, assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS) 2. Changes in knee condition, measured at baseline and follow-up, assessed using the patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) Tegner Activity Index and KOOS Score 3. Absolute medial and lateral meniscal extrusion, measured at baseline, before and after each stage, and at follow-up 2 weeks after the race, determined by ultrasound as the difference in millimeters between the supine and standing positions
