Inclusion criteria: Enrollment in the intermediate clinical phase of the dental curriculum Written informed consent to participate in the study

MeasureTime frame
Assessment of preparation quality following visual training using either a holographic three-dimensional (3D) representation or a conventional two-dimensional (2D) representation based on a veneer preparation performed on a phantom model. Two independent, blinded, and calibrated dentists (MJ, CS) objectively evaluate the preparations using a standardized assessment scheme comprising criteria such as shape, preparation depth, design, and preparation margins. The study investigates whether the mode of visualization (holographic 3D versus conventional 2D) has a significant effect on the quality of the veneer preparation.

MeasureTime frame
Changes in preparation quality within each group before and after the respective visualization phase are analyzed to assess individual learning progress and the impact of the visualization modality on practical performance, independent of the between-group comparison. In addition, students provide a subjective evaluation of the visualization modalities using a standardized questionnaire. Assessed domains include usability, comprehensibility, spatial understanding, perceived educational effectiveness, and personal preference.
