Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: untrained (defined as less than 1 hour of endurance training per week over the past six months)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: acute infections or orthopedic problems that make spiroergometric exercise testing impossible; smoking; BMI > 30; the presence of a pacemaker or an ongoing pregnancy, as these conditions make it impossible to perform bioimpedance analysis to assess body composition; insufficient knowledge of German, as this makes it impossible to complete the questionnaires; metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus; known cardiovascular diseases (uncontrolled arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart failure, ...); known neurological or oncological diseases; tryptophan supplementation in the past 3 months
