Group 1: Adult patients with pharmacologically refractory trigeminal neuralgia undergoing radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the Gasserian ganglion as part of routine clinical care.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia 2) Indication for radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the Gasserian ganglion 3) Age = 18 years 4) Capacity to provide informed consent 5) Written informed consent for participation (prospective study component)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Lack of capacity to provide informed consent 2) Absence of written informed consent (prospective study component) 3) Refusal to participate 4) Atypical facial pain that cannot be localized to a dermatomal distribution of the trigeminal nerve

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the feasibility and safety of intraoperative Laser Speckle Imaging during radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the Gasserian ganglion, defined as successful acquisition and analysis of perfusion measurements in patients with trigeminal neuralgia.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To characterize the spatial and temporal pattern of intraoperative facial perfusion changes during different stages of Gasserian ganglion thermocoagulation and explore their relationship with postoperative clinical outcomes
