Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Correlation between the diameter of the distal phalanx of the little finger and the sonographically determined subglottic tracheal diameter | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Correlation of the sonographically determined subglottic tracheal diameter with the diameter of the distal phalanx of the fourth finger as well as with weight, height, and age. In the second study arm, additionally: – Correlation of the sonographically determined subglottic tracheal diameter with the diameter determined by cross-sectional imaging (CT/MRI if obtained independently of the study) – Leak tightness of the endotracheal tube after actual intubation – Correlation of indicators of intubation difficulty with the videolaryngoscopic view of the glottic plane – Number of intubation attempts and tube changes | — |
