Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy sedentary adults without known cardiovascular, metabolic, or thermoregulatory disorders; no regular habitual exposure to air-conditioned environments; ability to participate in repeated office-based thermal exposure sessions; willingness to comply with study procedures.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Smoking, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic illness, regular medication use affecting thermoregulation or cardiovascular function, pregnancy, acute infection, or inability to complete repeated heat exposure sessions.

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome: PRE-to-POST change in late-phase core body temperature (CBT) drift during standardized heat-stress testing. Late-phase CBT drift was defined as the change in mean CBT between the pre-lunch reference window (12:15–12:30) and the final 15 minutes of the experimental session (16:15–16:30). CBT was measured continuously using ingestible telemetry pills (BodyCAP eCelsius Performance).

Secondary outcomes included: Distal and proximal skin temperature drift (ankle and neck skin temperature) Heart rate and heart rate variability indices (RMSSD, HF power, LF/HF) Blood pressure responses (SBP, DBP, MAP, PP) Thermal sensation, thermal comfort, and thermal preference questionnaires Physiological measurements were collected during standardized PRE and POST heat-stress testing sessions before and after the ten-day intervention period.
