Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: No acute symptoms or contraindications that would prevent a pressure massage of the perineum. No recent surgery in the pelvic floor or pelvic area with incomplete wound healing.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Acute symptoms or contraindications that exclude pressure massage in the perineal area, e.g. recent surgery in the pelvic floor or pelvic region with incomplete wound healing. Persons under 18 years or over 65 years. Male sex. Mentally incapable persons.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Change in biomechanical tissue parameters of the perineum measured using MyotonPRO and IndentoPRO before the intervention, immediately after the three-minute Perineum Ball self-treatment, and ten minutes after the intervention. Parameters include tissue stiffness, muscle tone, and viscoelastic tissue properties.

MeasureTime frame
Assessment of pelvic floor-related symptoms using a standardized questionnaire. The questionnaire includes information on urinary and fecal incontinence, bladder and bowel function, sexual function, and pelvic organ prolapse symptoms in order to explore possible associations between symptoms and biomechanical tissue parameters of the perineum.
