This study examines how gender and diversity affect hypertension across the full care continuum, from incidence and prevalence through treatment, drug efficacy and side-effects, to clinical outcomes. We ask: Are there gender-based differences in hypertension incidence and prevalence? Are there gender-based differences in hypertension treatment? Are there gender-based differences in adverse drug reaction rates and type to antihypertensives? Are there gender-based differences in blood pressure control rates in hypertensive patients?
