Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Phase 1: - Identification of up to three key challenges in the nursing care process of inpatient geriatric rehabilitation that have the potential for technological support. - Selection of up to three digital technologies that are highly suited to the identified challenges and needs within the care context of Winkelwaldklinik Nordrach. - Identification of adaptation needs in the care process and development of an implementation strategy for the selected technologies based on these needs. Phase 2: - Feasibility, acceptance, and integration of the implemented digital technologies into the nursing and interprofessional care processes of inpatient geriatric rehabilitation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Phase 1.) Needs Assessment: - Description of the professional nursing self-concept of staff in inpatient geriatric rehabilitation and, building on this, the identification of nursing and technology-related needs in cross-sectoral care, particularly at the interfaces between inpatient rehabilitation, acute care hospitals, and outpatient care. - Identification of factors that facilitate and hinder the design thinking process for the participatory identification of challenges in care practice, the selection of appropriate technologies, and the development of an implementation strategy. Phase 2.) Implementation: - Changes in perceived work organization and workload - Improvements in interprofessional communication and access to information - Perceived effects on the quality of care and patient satisfaction - Assessment of user experiences as well as factors that promote and hinder the implementation of digital technologies - Derivation of practical recommendations for the sustainable implementation of digital technologies in geriatric rehabilitation
