Interventions
Group 1: For patients with SMA undergoing spinal fusion surgery, the bone and cartilage tissue obtained during the procedure, as well as blood, urine, and sputum samples, will be analyzed
in addition, patient data and clinical X-ray, MRI, and CT images (which are routinely obtained for the surgeries) will be evaluated.
Group 2: From patients without SMA who undergo spinal fusion surger

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Following appropriate counseling and informed consent, the study will include all children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 17 with a spinal deformity and SMA or another underlying condition who are undergoing surgical correction in the Department of Pediatric Orthopedics at UMG.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients who do not meet the criteria listed above or who do not consent to participate in the study are excluded.
