Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Women aged 18 years and over • Acute and/or chronic recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis • Confirmed diagnosis of vulvovaginal candidiasis in accordance with the guideline (AWMF 015/072) (medical history, clinical presentation, unstained smear)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Females under 18 years of age • Other gynaecological infections other than vulvovaginal candidiasis (e.g. bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis or similar) • Current treatment with antifungal or antibiotic medication for infections of the external and/or internal genital area

Primary

MeasureTime frame
In vitro activity of nystatin against various Candida strains. Susceptibility testing following the culture of Candida species in the central laboratory. Vaginal swab following diagnosis of vulvovaginal candidiasis by the treating gynaecologist.
