Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Written informed consent provided by the patient or their legal representative Analgosedated patients receiving mechanical ventilation Presence of a central venous catheter and an arterial catheter Hemodynamic stability under intensive care treatment (mean arterial pressure = 65 mmHg, cardiac output = 4.5 L/min/m² body surface area) Clinically indicated requirement for computed tomography of the thorax

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Congenital cardiac malformations, severe valvular dysfunction, or severe arrhythmias Life expectancy of less than 24 hours Prior surgical interventions involving the organs under investigation

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Right ventricular end-diastolic volume as determined by three-dimensional echocardiography, in comparison with two-dimensional echocardiography and CT-based volumetric analysis.
