Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: We will generally include and analyse all datasets that provide responses to the primary outcome. We will exclude all participants who completed the survey in fewer than 2 minutes indicating a lack of seriousness reading the instructions and responding to the questions. If data provide evidence for differential exclusion (i.e., if fast respondents are disproportionately found in the intervention groups), we will perform sensitivity analyses to see the impact of fast respondents on the results. We will also exclude all participants who answer "no" to the statement "I have answered the questions conscientiously so that they can be used for the analyses" asked at the end of the survey

Trust in the diagnosis by a human physician on a 7-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (low trust) to 7 (high trust). Assessed once after the physician's diagnosis was presented.

Wish for seeking a second opinion, socio-demographic aspects (age, gender, school-leaving qualification, professional qualification, social status, medical background), self-efficacy (measured based on the ASKU), hypochondriasis (measured based on the Whiteley Index), neuroticism (measured with the BFI-10), level of involvement (based on "Rowley et al., 2014"), health status (adopted from the SF), manipulation checks (subjective assessment of severity and restrictions in everyday life of the diagnoses on 5-point Likert scales)
