Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Video-based parameters of habitual oral hygiene behaviour: total toothbrushing duration in seconds, regional brushing-time proportions, toothbrushing systematicity quantified using the Toothbrushing Systematics Index (TSI), and the type and temporal proportion of brushing movements classified as circular, horizontal, vertical, or non-specific. These parameters will be determined by analysing the video recordings obtained during habitual toothbrushing. Additional sequence-derived parameters will be analysed exploratorily. Intraoral scan-based plaque measures: planimetrically determined percentage plaque coverage before toothbrushing (P% pre) and after toothbrushing (P%post), as well as the resulting absolute plaque reduction in percentage points, defined as: ?Plaque=P%pre-P%post. These outcomes will be determined from the intraoral scans obtained before and after toothbrushing. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| regional stratification of plaque coverage before and after toothbrushing and of plaque reduction according to vestibular and oral tooth surfaces and sextants. In addition, the video-based behavioural parameters will be assigned to the corresponding tooth regions in order to exploratorily investigate region-specific associations between toothbrushing behaviour, residual plaque coverage, and plaque reduction. | — |
