Interventions

Group 1: Patients aged 65 and older undergoing inpatient rehabilitation are assessed at the beginning of the rehabilitation program and again at the end (after 3 weeks) using movement analysis as well

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing inpatient treatment in the geriatric trauma department of the BG Unfallklinik Murnau. Patients are able to understand the study and provide written informed consent. Gait and balance analysis as well as fall risk assessments using Orthelligent® are performed at admission and at discharge. The “Identification of Seniors At Risk” (ISAR) score is used to classify patients into the different groups.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Neurological disorders (for the comparison cohort) BMI = 31 kg/m² Gait speed < 0.5 m/s Delirium, identified by a positive Nursing Delirium Screening Scale (Nu-DESC) score Dementia, moderate or severe cognitive impairment, Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) < 24
