Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who received treatment between 2005 and 2025. Patients who presented with a postoperative hemothorax. (J94.2)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Traumatic hemothorax (S27.1/S27.2)

MeasureTime frame
Quantification of the incidence of postoperative hemothorax depending on the surgical procedure. Analysis of clinical severity and its influence on the course of the condition. Data collection is retrospective and was conducted at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, University Hospital RWTH Aachen, for the period 2005–2025. The hospital's internal information system, MEDICO, serves as the data repository. Consent for data use has been obtained from the hospital management.
