Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: a) for service users - Have first-hand experience with schizophrenia or psychosis - Have current or past experience using or considering antipsychotics b) for family/friends - Being a family member or friend of a service user who meets the criteria listed in a) c) for psychiatrists - Experience as a psychiatrist with regard to the treatment of service users with psychosis or schizophrenia While no specific diagnosis is required or given for service users, it is anticipated that the topic will be particularly relevant to individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia or psychotic disorders who are or have been undergoing psychiatric treatment. Nevertheless, as we aim to assess a spectrum of attitudes towards psychiatric treatment of psychosis, including critical attitudes, we do not want to exclude people who have been confronted with such a diagnosis personally, but do not accept it for themselves.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The only exclusion criterion results from the inclusion criterion that participants must be at least 18 years old, i. e. participants who are underage are excluded from the study.

| Timeframe: Months 1 through 12: Design, implementation, and analysis of qualitative data (December 31, 2026). The data will be collected through focus group interviews. Months 13 through 24: Design and validation of the scale (December 31, 2027). During months 25 through 36, the data will be analyzed and evaluated, and publications will be prepared to present the study results. The following assessment tools will be used for validation: - Stigma and Self-stigma Toward Using Antipsychotics; to be developed - Stigma and Self-stigma Toward Not Using Antipsychotics; to be developed - Self-Stigma of Mental Illness Scale – Short form, SSMIS-SF (Corrigan et al. 2012) - Internalized Stigma of Mental Illness Stigma Scale, ISMI (Ritsher et al. 2003) - The Drug Attitude Inventory, DAI (Hogan et al. 1983) - What Matters Most Framework (Schomerus und Angermeyer 2021; Yang et al. 2014) - General Intellectual Humility Scale, GIHS (Leary et al. 2017) - Specific Intellectual Humility Scale, SIHS (Hoyle et al. 2016) - Cognitive Flexibility Scale, CFS (Fleischhacker et al. 2014; Martin und Rubin 1995) - Cognitive Reflection Test (Sirota et al. 2021) - Patterns of use of medications (developed for a previous ongoing study, will be validated prior to administration in current study). - socioeconomic status, education, income, age, gender, ethnicity - diagnosis, time since diagnosis, hospitalization data (number, current hospitalization, time since last etc.), current symptoms (positive and negative) - Self-Identification as Having a Mental Illness Scale (SELF-I) (Schomerus et al. 2019) - years in occupation - type of relationship with service user, type and intensity of support | — |
