Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Primary care and further treatment at the University Hospital Düsseldorf in the Department of Pediatric Surgery, including appendectomy, or referral to the Department of Pediatric Surgery or the pediatric emergency department at the University Hospital Düsseldorf for unexplained lower abdominal pain, to rule out acute appendicitis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Incomplete medical records and additional outpatient care at other hospitals, as well as the documented patient’s refusal to participate in any kind of study.
