Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eligible participants were adult female football players competing in German amateur leagues who were registered with their teams for the 2025-2026 season. Participants were required to be free from musculoskeletal injury at baseline and have no history of cesarean delivery within the last year.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria included absence from any measurement session, missing two or more intervention sessions during the study period, concurrent participation in other organized sports programs, or sustaining an injury that prevented continued participation in the intervention.

The study design comprised baseline and post-intervention assessment of isometric strength of trunk muscles across three movement planes. Measurements were conducted at the Movement and Training Science Lab of the Institute for Sport and Sport Science- TU Dortmund in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and received ethical approval from the Ethics Committee of TU Dortmund University (GEKTUDO-2022-43). All participants provided written informed consent prior to enrollment. Isometric trunk flexion, extension, lateral flexion and transversal rotation was measured in sagittal, frontal, transversal planes using the Pegasus 3-D system (Biofeedback Motor Control GmbH, Leipzig, Germany) identical to the method proposed by Kocjan et al. (2014) and Kolodziej et al. (2021) in two occasions at July 25th, 26th, and 27th, and September 28th, 29th, and 30th. Each participant performed the test battery three times and the average of the trials was considered for further analysis.
