Group 1: The aim of the project is to investigate whether it is possible to generate synthetic full-body or chest X-ray images from vital signs data, the diagnostic quality of which is sufficient to r
instead, existing vital signs and X-ray images are used, which were recorded previously as part of the treatment in the neonatal intensive care unit at Erlangen University Hospital.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary endpoint of the study is the quantitative and qualitative agreement between generated synthetic images and real-world whole-body X-ray images of neonatal patients. This agreement is assessed both using objective image analysis metrics and through a structured specialist medical evaluation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints include the diagnostic classification performance of the generated images in relation to clearly defined clinical questions, the determination of structural similarity metrics between real and synthetic images, and the assessment of image quality and diagnostic usability by experienced radiologists as part of a blinded review.
