Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Indication for orthodontic treatment with aligners or multibracket appliances Complete medical history, as well as clinical and radiographic assessment

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Smoker Medication use Systemic diseases (acute or chronic) Oral pathologies (e.g. active caries, gingivitis, or periodontitis, salivary gland disorders)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Type and characterization of proteins, as well as quantification/number of proteins and their changes depending on mechanical loading. The salivary proteome will be compared with the proteome of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Investigation of the dependence of the primary endpoints on age, sex, treatment type (Group 1/Group 2), approximal plaque index (API), and sulcus bleeding index (SBI).
