Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. For patients with statutory health insurance, an approved periodontal therapy application from the health insurance company. 2. The patient is able to give informed consent to participate in the study or has a legal representative who can do so on their behalf.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. The patient is unable to participate in the survey due to a lack of German language skills. 2. Systematic periodontitis therapy in the past 2 years.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary endpoint of this cohort study is an improvement in the total score on the OHSE questionnaire of at least 10 points in the intervention group compared to the control group between baseline and follow-up 1.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Test subjects: 1. Periodontitis-specific knowledge, measured using a questionnaire with a visual analog scale (VAS) 2. Papillary bleeding index (PBI), plaque index according to the Quigley-Hein index (QHI) 3. Subjects' subjective perception of care and information, measured using VAS 4. Therapy adherence measured by attendance at follow-up appointments for periodontitis therapy (UPT) Students: 1. Students' sense of competence during treatment, measured using a questionnaire with VAS
